【摘要】:Fromthelightshipcharacteristicsoneisabletocalculatethestabilitycharacteristicsofthevesselforallconditionsofloadingandtherebydeterminewhetherthevesselsatisfiestheapplicablestabilitycriteria.Accurateresultsfromastabilitytestmayinsomecasesdeterminethefuturesurvivalofthevesselanditscrew,sotheaccuracywithwhichthetestisconductedcannotbeoveremphasized.Theconditionofthevesselandtheenvironmentduringthetestisrarelyidealandconsequently,thestabilitytestisinfrequentlyconductedexactlyasplanned.Ifthevesselisnot100%completeandtheweatherisnotperfect,thereendsupbeingwaterorshipyardtrashinatankthatwassupposedtobecleananddryandsoforth,thenthepersoninchargemustmakeimmediatedecisionsastotheacceptabilityofvariancesfromtheplan.Acompleteunderstandingoftheprinciplesbehindthestabilitytestandaknowledgeofthefactorsthataffecttheresultsisnecessary.1.1Thisguidecoversthedeterminationofavessel''slightshipcharacteristics.Thestabilitytestcanbeconsideredtobetwoseparatetasks;thelightweightsurveyandtheincliningexperiment.Thestabilitytestisrequiredformostvesselsupontheircompletionandaftermajorconversions.Itisnormallyconductedinshoreincalmweatherconditionsandusuallyrequiresthevesselbetakenoutofservicetoprepareforandconductthestabilitytest.Thethreelightshipcharacteristicsdeterminedfromthestabilitytestforconventional(symmetrical)shipsaredisplacement(x201C;displx201D;),longitudinalcenterofgravity(x201C;LCGx201D;),andtheverticalcenterofgravity(x201C;KGx201D;).Thetransversecenterofgravity(x201C;TCGx201D;)mayalsobedeterminedformobileoffshoredrillingunits(MODUs)andothervesselswhichareasymmetricalaboutthecenterlineorwhoseinternalarrangementoroutfittingissuchthataninherentlistmaydevelopfromoff-centerweight.Becauseoftheirnature,otherspecialconsiderationsnotspecificallyaddressedinthisguidemaybenecessaryforsomeMODUs.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
