【摘要】:TheDTenergyvalueisameasureofresistancetorapidprogressivefracturing.Inanumberofapplications,theenhancedresistancethatmaydevelopduringaboutoneplatethicknessofcrackextensionfromasharpnotchisofmajorinterest.Inthetestmethod,asufficientlylongfracturepathisprovidedsothattheresultsserveasameasureofthisproperty.Fracturesurfacesofnonausteniticsteelstestedintheirtemperaturetransitionregionhaveareasthatappearbrightandareasthatappeardull.Thebright,facetedappearingareasaretermedx201C;cleavagex201D;fracture,andthedullappearingareasaretermedx201C;shearx201D;fractureaftertheirrespectivemodeoffractureonamicroscale.Thistestmethodcanservethefollowingpurposes:Inresearchanddevelopment,toevaluatetheeffectsofmetallurgicalvariablessuchascomposition,processing,orheattreatment,oroffabricatingoperationssuchasformingandweldingonthedynamictearfractureresistanceofneworexistingmaterials.Inserviceevaluation,toestablishthesuitabilityofamaterialforaspecificapplicationonlywhereacorrelationbetweenDTenergyandserviceperformancehasbeenestablished.Forinformation,specificationsofacceptance,andmanufacturingqualitycontrolwhenaminimumDTenergyisrequested.Detaileddiscussionofthebasisfordeterminingsuchminimumvaluesinaparticularcaseisbeyondthescopeofthistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedynamictear(DT)testusingspecimensthatare3/16in.to5/8in.(5mmto16mm)inclusiveinthickness.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletomaterialswithaminimumthicknessof3/16in.(5mm).1.3Thepressed-knifeproceduredescribedforsharpeningthenotchtipgenerallylimitsthistestmethodtomaterialswithahardnesslevellessthan36HRC.Note18212;Thedesignation36HRCisaRockwellhardnessnumberof36onRockwellCscaleasdefinedinTestMethodsE18.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
