【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversfittings,appurtenancesandvalveswhicharetobeusedwithpipeandtubingcomplyingwithSpecificationsD1785,D2241,D2846,F441orF442,orotherpipingasspecifiedbythefittingsmanufacturer.Theseproducts,suchasunions,flangesorvalves,arenotincludedinthescopeofexistingASTMspecifications.Thisspecificationincludesminimumrequirementsfortesting,materials,dimensions,workmanship,marking,andin-plantqualitycontrol.1.2Fittingsorappurtenancescoveredbythisspecificationaregenerallyeithermolded,fabricated,orassembledfrommoldedormachinedcomponents.Thematerialsusedincomponentsincluderigidthermoplastics,thermoplasticelastomers,elastomerics,andmetals.Thebodyormainportionofthefitting,appurtenanceorvalveistypicallyPVC,CPVC,PEorPA(nylon).AllproductscoveredbythisstandardareintendedtobeusedinPVCorCPVCplasticpipingsystems,orasatransitionfromthesetometalsystems.1.3Theapplicationoftheseproductstogasserviceisbeyondthescopeofthisspecification.1.4Theproductscoveredbythisspecificationareintendedforusewiththedistributionofpressurizedliquidsonly,whicharechemicallycompatiblewiththepipingmaterials.Duetoinherenthazardsassociatedwithtestingcomponentsandsystemswithcompressedairorothercompressedgasessomemanufacturersdonotallowpneumatictestingoftheirproducts.Consultwithspecificproduct/componentmanufacturersfortheirspecifictestingprocedurespriortopneumatictesting.Note18212;Warning:Pressurized(compressed)airorothercompressedgasescontainlargeamountsofstoredenergywhichpresentserioussafetywhichpresentserioussafetyhazardsshouldasystemfailforanyreason.1.5Fittingswhichrelyonheatfusionweldingforconnectiontothepipingsystemareoutsidethescopeofthisspecification.1.6Checkvalves(includingfootvalves)coveredbythisspecificationshallnotbeconsideredbackflowpreventiondevicesandshallnotbeusedfortheprotectionofapotablewatersupply.Fordefinitionsandrequirementsofbackflowpreventiondevices,consultmodelplumbingcodesandASSE.1.7Duetothecomplexandinstallation-specificconcernssurroundingchemicalresistanceandcorrosion,thisspecificationdoesnotaddressthecompatibilityoftheproductswithallpossibleend-useenvironments.Additionaltestingspecifictotheend-useenvironmentisrecommendedifthesystemisconveyingliquidsotherthanpotablewater.1.8Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesaregivenforinformationonly.1.9Thefollowingsafetycaveatappliesonlytothetestmethodsandin-plantqualitycontrolportions,sectionofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
