【摘要】:Thepurposeofthistestistoobtain,bymeansofaspecifiedlaboratoryprocedure,thevaluesoftheequilibriummoisturecontentathigherRHlevels((x2248;95to100%).Thesevaluesareusedeitherasmeanstocharacterizethematerialorasmaterialcharacteristicsneededasinputtoappropriatecomputermodelsthatcansimulatewettingordryingpotentialofindividualbuildingmaterialsormaterialassembliesunderspecifiedenvironmentalconditions.1.1Thistestmethodspecifiesalaboratoryprocedureforthedeterminationofthewaterretentioncurve(ormoisturestoragecapacity)ofporousbuildingmaterialsatveryhighrelativehumidity(RH)levels(x2248;95to100%RH)correspondingtothecapillarymoistureregionofthesorptionisotherm.Thisisachievedbyusingthepressureplatetestapparatus.Thistechniquewasoriginallydevelopedtostudysoilmoisturecontentandeventuallyhadbeenadaptedtobuildingconstructionmaterials.1.2AthigherRHlevels(x2248;95to100%RH)ofthesorptionisotherm(seeTestMethodC1498),useofclimaticchamberisnotanoption.Thistechniqueusesoverpressuretoextractwateroutoftheporestructureofporousmaterialsuntilequilibriumbetweenthemoisturecontentinthespecimensandthecorrespondingoverpressureisachieved.Usingthepressureplateextractors,equilibriumcanonlybereachedbydesorption.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
