【摘要】:Duringoperationofelectricalequipment,includingwires,resistors,andotherconductors,itispossibleforoverheatingtooccur,undercertainconditionsofoperation,orwhenmalfunctionsoccur.Whenthishappens,apossibleresultisignitionoftheinsulationmaterial.Thistestmethodassessestherelativeresistanceofelectricalinsulatingmaterialstoignitionbytheeffectofhotwiresources.Thistestmethoddeterminestheaveragetime,inseconds,requiredformaterialspecimenstoigniteunderthespecifiedconditionsoftest.Thismethodissuitabletocharacterizematerials,subjecttotheappropriatelimitationsofanexpectedprecisionofx00B1;15%,tocategorizematerials.Inthisprocedurethespecimensaresubjectedtooneormorespecificsetsoflaboratoryconditions.Ifdifferenttestconditionsaresubstitutedortheend-useconditionsarechanged,itisnotalwayspossiblebyorfromthistesttopredictchangesinthefire-test-responsecharacteristicsmeasured.Therefore,theresultsarevalidonlyforthefiretestexposureconditionsdescribedinthisprocedure.1.1Thistestmethodisintendedtodifferentiate,inapreliminaryfashion,amongmaterialswithrespecttotheirresistancetoignitionbecauseoftheirproximitytoelectrically-heatedwiresandotherheatsources.1.2Thistestmethodappliestomoldedorsheetmaterialsavailableinthicknessesrangingfrom0.25to6.4mm(0.010to0.25in.).1.3Thistestmethodappliestomaterialsthatarerigidatnormalroomtemperatures.Thatis,itappliestomaterialsforwhichthespecimendoesnotdeformduringpreparation,especiallyduringthewire-wrappingstepdescribedin10.1.Examplesofdeformationthatrenderthistestmethodinapplicableinclude:1.3.1Bowing,ineitheratransverseoralongitudinaldirection,ortwistingofthespecimen,duringthewire-wrappingstep,toadegreevisibletotheeye.1.3.2Visibleindentationofthewrappedwireintothespecimen.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.(Seeforfurtherdetails.)1.5Thistestmethodmeasuresanddescribestheresponseormaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.7Firetestingisinherentlyhazardous.Adequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.Note18212;AlthoughthistestmethodandIEC60695-2-20,differinapproachandindetail,dataobtainedusingeitheraretechnicallyequivalent.
